Sase Aggressive 2 half-round PCD diamond segment and 1 Button Segment
• 2 X 1/2 PCD Segments (Polycrystalline Diamond):
• Function: These serve as the primary ‘teeth.’ PCD is a synthetic diamond material known for its extreme hardness and sharpness.
• Shape: The half-round design offers a large, durable cutting edge. Unlike smaller 1/4-round segments, this shape allows them to plow through thick, sticky, or rubbery coatings without breaking.
• Aggressiveness: Very high. Instead of grinding the surface, they scrape and tear coatings off concrete.
• 1 Button Segment (The ‘Stabilizer’ ):
• Function: This is a Button, rectangular or arrow-shaped bar made of tungsten carbide or a metal-bond diamond matrix.
• Purpose: Using only PCDs could cause excessive digging into the concrete substrate, leading to damage to both the concrete and the machine. The carbide segment sits slightly lower or flush with the PCDs, acting as a depth gauge. It prevents the PCDs from cutting too deeply and helps smooth the rough surface left by their ripping action.
This tool specializes in coating removal and is not intended for general concrete grinding or polishing. Its applications include:
• Thick Epoxies & Urethanes: Removing industrial coatings that would quickly clog (glaze over) standard diamond abrasives.
• Sticky Materials: Eliminating mastic, carpet glue, VCT glue, and rubberized elastomers.
• Thick Paints & Sealers: Stripping parking deck coatings or waterproofing membranes.
