Half-round PCD segments tools are designed to slide or snap into the bottom of a SASE planetary , the specific “Quick-Change” mounting style.
The ‘bar’ is a sacrificial metal or diamond-matrix bar, commonly referred to as a stabilizer, positioned behind the PCD segment. Its purpose is to act as a depth gauge. Without this bar, the aggressive PCD would cut too deeply into the concrete. The bar prevents the tool from gouging and ensures it glides smoothly while the PCD removes the coating.
