PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) Grinding Blocks/Segments, PCD Scrapers or Grinding Shoes. They are designed to remove thick coatings, adhesives, epoxy resins, varnishes, and paints from concrete surfaces.
Main Uses and Features
• Removal of Thick Coatings: PCD tools use a scraping action, making them ideal for removing pressure-sensitive coatings, adhesives, and waterproofing materials thicker than 3mm. Traditional diamond cup wheels may become clogged or overheated by these materials.
• Material: PCD segments are made from synthetic diamond particles sintered together under high temperature and pressure, offering extremely high hardness and wear resistance.
• Design: The tool shown in the image has a PCD segment and a metal stabilizing block (or sacrificial block). The stabilizing block acts as a depth guide, reducing the likelihood of the PCD segment digging too deeply into the concrete surface and causing damage (e.g., leaving scratches).
• Application Areas: Widely used in construction, renovation, and industrial fields for floor preparation, structural renovation, and road maintenance.
Usage Precautions
• Directionality: PCD tools typically have directionality (clockwise or counterclockwise rotation) and require selecting the correct tool based on the grinder’s rotation direction
