Husqvarna Redi-Lock with 1 Full PCD and 1 Button with Split PCD is a high-performance “hybrid” removal tool. It is essentially a triple-action shoe designed for the most difficult surface preparation jobs where you need both aggressive removal and a smoother finish than a standard PCD can provide.

PCD Grinding Disc The Full PCD is the “heavy lifter.” It is a large, solid diamond chunk that acts as a scraper. It physically dives under thick coatings (like epoxy or heavy mastic) and rips them away from the concrete.
The Button is a round, metal-bond diamond segment that sits on the same shoe.
It acts as a depth gauge or “governor.” It supports the weight of the grinding machine so the Full PCD doesn’t dig too deep and gouge the concrete floor. It protects the concrete substrate and provides stability, preventing the machine from “walking” or vibrating excessively.
The Split PCD (Crushed/Fragmented Segment) is a unique segment where the PCD material is broken into smaller pieces or “split” across the segment surface.
It bridges the gap between the aggressive Full PCD and the smoothing Button. It removes smaller bits of coating and adhesive that the larger PCD might have missed. It creates a “crushed” scratch pattern (similar to a shot-blast texture) rather than the deep “corn-row” gashes left by standard PCDs.
The Full PCD removes the bulk of the material, while the Split PCD and Button smooth out the path. This makes it much easier to transition to your next grinding step (usually a 30 or 70 grit metal bond). Ideal for Thin-to-Medium Coatings: Perfect for floors with less than 2mm of epoxy, glue, or self-leveling compound. If you intend to polish the concrete afterward, this removal tool is superior to a double-full PCD because it leaves a surface that is much easier to “grind out” later.
Rotation: Like most PCD tools, these are directional. You must ensure you buy “Clockwise” or “Counter-clockwise” versions to match the rotation of your Husqvarna grinder heads.
Pressure: Because of the button, you can often run these with higher head pressure without the fear of damaging the floor compared to a “naked” PCD.
