Schwamborn Double Half PCDs Ideal for polyurethane, acrylics, and epoxy coatings that aren’t excessively thick. 2X1/2 Polycrystalline Diamond

Schwamborn PCD grinding shoes are specialized surface preparation tools designed for the aggressive removal of stubborn floor coatings. Unlike standard metal-bond diamond segments that “grind” the surface, PCD tools use a “scraping” or “tearing” action, which prevents the tools from gumming up or overheating when dealing with thick, sticky materials.

Schwamborn with two half-round (split) Polycrystalline Diamond segments 2 x 1/2 PCD less aggressive than a full-round PCD but more efficient than a standard metal-bond diamond for removing stubborn materials.

Application
1. Medium Coating Removal: Ideal for polyurethane, acrylics, and epoxy coatings that aren’t excessively thick.
2. Adhesive Residue: Excellent for scraping up carpet glue, VCT mastic, and bitumen that hasn’t hardened into a rock-like state.
3. Corrective Grinding: Used when the surface is too “gummy” for 16-grit metal bonds but you don’t want the destructive power of a full PCD.
4. Keying the Surface: Leaves a perfect “key” (CSP 3–5) for new coatings to bond to, often saving you a secondary grinding step with coarse metal bonds.
